Pastoral Care at William Brookes

We pride ourselves on our pastoral system. We adopt a trauma informed approach to managing
student behaviour and use emotion coaching to structure conversations with students. A trauma
informed school supports children to make sense of their experiences, find ways to manage their
emotions and feelings and create an environment of safety, connection and compassion at all times.
We are building a school where we build strong, positive, supportive relationships between staff and
students. Your child will have a designated Form Tutor and a Head of Year who will address your
child’s pastoral needs. Alongside this we have an outstanding safeguarding team and an incredible
team of Pupil Support Officers.
